This just in!

For the past few weeks I’ve been getting in results from my rheumatology visit and today I got some that made me angerfied.

First let me tell you what all types of medical whozits i’ve had over the past few years

2012: Back Spasm #1- normal pain meds and began the epic journey of chronic back pain. Carolina Spine had no clue so they referred me to physical therapy which didn’t work, I went to a Duke spinal specialist and he came up with nothing exciting after an MRI. I started to see a Chiropractor and miraculously could at least walk and function without super drugs

2013: Continued to go to Chiropractor all the freakin time while praying my back would feel better eventually. This is also when I started to go to the podiatrist and over the course of a little over a year had 3 “surgeries” on my toesies.

2014: February I had PRK on my eyeballs; which was somewhat voluntary but still resulted in many many ophthalmology visits. Next up comes the endocrinologist, multiple visits including primary care and referral to duke endocrinology where I had to have a 24hr urine collection at home, a series of blood tests done which ended with the water deprivation test (no food/water for the entire test and I had to pee in a cup every hour and get blood drawn every other hour until released…mine lasted from 7:30am to 5:30pm) From that work I had another MRI, which showed I apparently have a cyst surrounding my pituitary so I tried the hormone medicine they gave me which made me sick. Since then I drink about 5L of water a day and pee just as much with basically no nutrients being absorbed. Around this same time I was diagnosed with Reynaud’s, which cuts of capillary blood flow to my extremities and my body goes into hypothermia pretty much.

2015: This year I was sent to the Rheumatologist to see if I have an autoimmune disorder and a direct quote from the labs I got back –> “Not sure what it means at this point or how it fits in” so I apparently have to go back in a few months and repeat whatever labs she feels like, and I got a voicemail today that I didn’t get to listen to until 3:30 that says they have confidential and important lab results for me but shut their phone lines off at 3 on Fridays..I’m also in the process of scheduling the yearly MRI check-up for my cyst. Bonus point; my back feels like I belong in the bell tower of Notre Dame

So in summary I have an incredibly simple medical chart.

About Erin Goes Blah- I rant forever

Ever heard of Erin Go Brah? The horse obviously, not the saying! I'm him, in human form but slightly less successful and well known. Perhaps you've also heard of a man named William Shakespeare? In "A mid-summer nights dream" he says, "though she be but little, she is fierce" in reference to Hermia...I have a little bit of that in my mix too. I'm a 26-year-old big kid with occasional adult tendencies just trying to figure out my place in life. Chronically single and exhausted I am the keeper of two jobs and three pets. With approximately 2 hours of free time per day, I tend to use it relaxing- leading to much musings and wonderment. I plan on using this blog to reach out to others, and to my inner conscience to better understand my odd habits and talk myself out of them. I hope to bring attention to those in eating disorder recovery, by being open about my hardships and hurdles. I'm weird, silly and looking for someone to share the love with :)
